Kathleen Deo Weddings

I love a BUSY wedding day! The hustle and bustle of the wedding gets me so excited and I find it such an honor to be next to the bride’s side. My biggest goals on a wedding day are to A) make sure my couple is relaxed and happy, B) to keep every element running on schedule and C) to discretely eliminate any issues that pop up. I’m a busy bee on the big day… but I’m used to it! I’ve been planning all kinds of nationwide events since 2006 – large corporate events, smaller intimate celebrations, exciting marketing events for big brands like Food Network Magazine, Comedy Central, iHeart Radio, Super Bowl… the list goes on and on. Planning and logistics have always been a part of my work and I am so lucky that now I get to apply my skills to such beautiful weddings.

Getting to know the bride (and sometimes even her mom!) is my favorite part. So many of my brides have remained a friend long after their wedding day. I don’t think I could do my job successfully without feeling that “vibe” between us. I pride myself on being super accessible for my brides so the planning process is easy and comfortable. They know they can reach me anytime via text or email and I’ll always be there with an answer, guidance, direction and recommendations. (Not many planners can say that!)

When I’m not planning weddings, I’m “Mom”! I have three little kiddos (Maddie, Sarah & Johnny). I can tell my obsession with weddings is rubbing off on the girls when they bring me drawings of wedding gowns “for my brides” or when they ask to come to the receptions. They like a good party, just like their Mama!

I’d love to hear YOUR story! Feel free to reach out and tell me about your engagement and wedding plans. I can’t wait to hear from you!

fun facts

I love to cook! In fact, I used to do it professionally when I lived in Washington D.C. a million years ago. One of my favorite shows is Chopped (Food Network and other cooking shows are always on at my house) and some of the best dinners I make come from opening up the fridge and playing “Chopped” in my head. Sometimes I even surprise myself!

I’ve never met a taco and spicy margarita I didn’t like! Have you been to Barrio Costero in Asbury? Get some tacos, a double order of their nachos and a margarita with the smoked chipotle salt. OMG!

Taylor Swift is one of my favorite artists… but NOT the new stuff. I’m talking the early albums like her first album ever, then “Fearless”, “Speak Now”, “1989” and “Reputation”. I can recite every word to those albums and each song brings back memories of fun times… and awesome concerts!

My favorite movies are Top Gun, The Notebook, Dirty Dancing, Step Brothers, Wedding Crashers…. And of course My Best Friend’s Wedding. If I catch them on TV, I’m hooked right away!

I love a warm-weather vacation! Any beach, any island, any crystal blue water… I’m
there! Of all the beaches I’ve traveled to, my favorite has to be Maroma Beach in Riviera Maya. My husband and I went for our honeymoon back in 2013 and it was one of the best weeks of our lives! We missed it so much, we returned in 2019. If you’re on the hunt for a honeymoon spot, check out Secrets Maroma Beach. TRUST. ME.

“Surround yourself with people who make you feel good”

I’ve always tried to remind myself of this quote throughout different stages in life. At any age, a girl needs a mantra like this one! This mindset should carry through to wedding planning as well. Choose a coordinator who is going to treat you like her BFF with your best interest at heart.

Trusting someone with the details of my big day was hard for me but as soon as I met Kathleen I immediately connected with her and she put me at ease.

Thanks for making this fun!

Best decision ever the day I said “yes” to Kathleen!
